An Independent film being made this week on 12th Avenue South in Bartlett Park has residents buzzing about and looking out for movie stars while two reporters compete to sensationalize a largely fictional and self serving account of division among residents.People here are talking about a lot of things these days but the concerns of a half dozen former members of a neighborhood association are not near the top of our agenda. Nonetheless their complaints have been placed on center stage because they played to the misconceptions of these writers.
One neighbor remarked that only a couple of us on each block subscribe to the newspaper so these stories really have no relevance to us. No wonder fewer and fewer people buy the paper every year. The other free newspaper has virtually no circulation in the black community.
Orlando Jones is shown here on the set of his TV show. He is one of the actors in the film. Several locations in Pinellas County are being used to shoot the new movie, "Misconceptions".
