About the workshop: Power can sometimes have a bad name. Realizing our God-given interpersonal power, however, enables us to live fully alive. Using this power we make better choices and create more lasting relationships. The session includes prayer, presentation, as well as small and large group discussions.

About Room for the Spirit:

Room for the Spirit, a Satellite of the Franciscan Center, Tampa, Florida, is an urban spirituality center located in the 22nd Street development district in South St. Petersburg. Its mission is to provide opportunities for spiritual renewal and personal development for residents of St. Petersburg, Florida and the greater Tampa Bay Area. It also provides a space for people in the community to come aside and rest awhile and/or to talk with a spiritual companion.

About the presenters:

MAUREEN CONNORS, Ph.D. facilitates retreats, workshops and meetings and provides spiritual friendship to groups and individuals. She is Co-Director of Programs for the Franciscan Center in Tampa and Co-Director of Room for the Spirit in St. Petersburg. She and Carol have been doing programs for the community at the James B. Sanderlin Center since 2002. Maureen brings her gifts in empowering personal and spiritual development as well as her thirst for justice.

SISTER JANE PANK, HM, originally designed this workshop with Maureen and had planned to come to St. Petersburg from Cleveland, OH to team with her. In early August she had a bad fall and shattered her knee cap. Please keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
